Reuss Musical Instruments is a brand name owned by Good Guy's Media & Music ApS. A Danish one-man business run by me - Anders Marcuslund-Reuss
My ambition for Reuss Musical Instruments is to make great sounding guitar effect pedals of uncompromising quality.
Handcrafted in the European Union
The Reuss pedals are completely handmade in the European Union. Some work is done by myself here in Copenhagen, Denmark, some by Møller Mod in Bjerringbro and some by my electronics partner in Bulgaria.
All the pedals are fully or partly soldered by hand, using old fashioned 'through hole' parts, and they are all hard wired and features upgrade quality footswitches and jacks etc. No jacks or foot switches are mount at the main circuit board. No cheap solutions. A lot of my circuits calls for obsolete vintage parts, and I go all the way to source these, because I believe the devil is in the detail.
I have a close partnership with a brilliant electronics engineer on circuit development here in Copenhagen, and at my Bulgarian team I collaborate with another electronics engineer, who is the guy behind the exceptionally clean and pretty circuit board layouts.
Shipping
The webshop orders are handled by a large third party business in Copenhagen, who operates with a lot of different courier companies for different territories Worldwide, and they have great rates. They are the kind of business who handles a large amount of differet webshops, small and large, from a huge warehouse in the indutrial suburbs of Copenhagen.
Tax
As I am a Danish business and because Denmark is a member of the European Union, I have to charge VAT when shipping pedals to customers in the European Union. VAT/taxes/tariffs are never charged by me for exports outside the EU, so be prepared to be charged for this by your local authorities. These things are beyond my powers to control, and it is your repsonsablility to know the rules that applies in your spcific country when posting an order.
About me
I learned electronics from my dad, who was a science teacher, and I started etching my own circuit boards and building musical devices from age 12. Electronics has been an on/off hobby ever since.
The graphic designs and the pedal concepts comes from my own imagination. The ideas are constantly piling up in my mind. My driving force is creating pedals I would have a desire to own myself. My main interest is in the products, not so much in the selling or marketing of them (which is probably something I should consider changing ...).
I have two educations. I am both a journalist and a lab tech, and for years I was working at various record companies as press officer, doing press for a large number of leading independent labels including Mute Records, 4AD, Domino, Beggars Banquet, City Slang and major labels Universal Music and Sony.
Reuss Musical Instruments is still a hobby / spare time business, and I work fulltime in public healthcare as the administrative leader of long-running epidimiological research project, The Copenhagen City Heart Study, which has been going since 1976.
I am also a former musician, playing in local Copenhagen bands Naked, Port Friendly and Death Tothe in the 90s, as well as being a frequent guest with The Tremolo Beer Gut playing the theremin.
Good Guy's Media & Music ApS was formerly called Good Guy's Recording Company, releasing records by local artists The Breakers (dk), Green Pitch and Pluto between 2005 and 2007.
I am the father of five and happily married since the year 2000 to a wonderful woman called Marie Marcuslund-Reuss.
Good Guy's Media & Music ApS (VAT registration number DK45630811) have the legal business address at my private residence at Maj Alle 35, 2860 Søborg, Denmark. Please note that there is no office or workshop or stock of pedals here, and I take no visitors at this address.
