Reuss Musical Instruments

Nice words from my customers

I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying the new evil twin.
Once I stopped fixating on getting the old sounds, the whole world of possibility began to open up. The control set for both the plus and the blue have made this thing extraordinarily versatile, from trashy punk rock to huge ambient sounds. You’ve done a great job on this one. This is an awful lot of fun! (Seth M.)

I've become quite cautious about pedals with too many knobs and switches, but you knocked it out of the park with the design and build of this beast. The best fuzz I've ever played, and the best distortion flavors. Plays through my Vox AC15C2 beautifully. Thanks again! (Instagram account @sethualpersona on the Evil Twin mk II)

Just wanted to say that I picked up the Plasmatron and Goo Goo Fuzz a couple weeks ago and they're absolutely fantastic. They're both great on their own, the Plasmatron is far more versatile than I was expecting. But believe it or not, they sound absolutely incredible stacked for drone / doom / sludge type tones. Not even what I picked them up for, but man do they do it well! Well done! (Francis D.)

I can say nothing but good things. Reuss Repeater is maybe the best tremolo pedal that I've used in my life. Very good quality. Thanks. Timo Huittinen (five star feedback at reverb.com)

Today I got the pedal, very professional delivery. Profesional package....Thank you. The pedal is really an ultimate pedal. No matter what setting of the pedal and my Stratocaster. It sound so good. I normally don't like middle pickup of stratocaster and the bridge pickup is also too thin but using Purple Faze the real pickup sound from stratocaster is so sweet, the natural Startocaster sound is comming up properly. I played also with humbucker and Les Paul Junior P90 it sounds so amazing .The sound is  aggresive and sweet at the same time. I am so speechless. I cannot describe properly with my words. It just easily so sweet. To be honest with you I own a lot of expensive Fuzz and none of them can create Hendrix sound. I played guitar more than 34 year, the whole time I was looking for an ultimate sound. I almost give up in my life to get such a magic sound until I heard the original tone bender MK1, MK1.5, MK 2, MK3 and MK4 sound.....but as I heard purple faze... I said I must try that one and today I play it....bingo that the one can create Hendrix sound properly, simply turn all the way up the level and internsity use your guitar volume. I play with my Gibson GA20- RVT and VibroVerb my goodness, it sounds unbelieveable....."  (Agustian Agustian on the Purple Faze Special Edition)

Thanks for this marvellous Copenhagen Fuzz, I'm a believer! Finally I get the beauty of a good fuzz. I use it mostly with the guitar volume down a bit, neck PU (P90) and mainly for faster bluesy runs a la Eric Johnson etc. Damn, that sounds sooo gorgeous! Some sweet compression in the right frequencies and the sparkle on top are something I was always looking for in a pedal. Most overdrives just failed for me in this department (four exceptions so far, #1 definitly Reuss Gold sounds..). Copenhagen delivers! Pretty Sure, someday there will be a Purple Faze in my live (and maybe also a muzzbox, dang it). I literally see and feel all the love you put in your pedals, the boards look like a serious work of art, digging it! All the best for you. A damn happy customer. (Christoph S. from Germany on the Copenhagen Bender)

Thanks for sending the RSH3 pedal. Just wanted to let you know that you knocked it out of the park! I’m playing a Gretsch Koa Penguin through an Orange Pedal Baby and it’s a winner for me. Funnily enough I was having trouble finding an overdrive pedal that would work with the Penguin, but this MXR platform seems to mate nicely with it which was kinda lucky considering I bought it without having a chance to test it first. Loving the treble switch mod on the fuzz circuit. I find it so much more useable when I opened it up and switched it to off. The fuzz channel dissolves everything beautifully into a chaotic noisy mess. It’s perfect. Anyways, just thought I’d let you know that it’s been really well received over here and has a good and appreciative home. And give you my thanks for your time and energy into creating this pedal. It’s a magnificent tribute to Rowland’s genius. (Doug Smith)

I enjoy your Square One pedal a lot, and must of all I dig these smart switching options. Finally I found my faves (symetrical, fat, Mosfet/Germanium) for my setup. It sounded pretty good, clear note seperation, nice complex texture and an excellent high end (reminds me of some analogman pedals, Silver mod, PoT, classy!), but my old ZW44 still had more output and grunt (through a Marshall 2203). I was a little bit disappointed first, until I tried higher voltage.. BAM! I never had this experience with another pedal before, when I increased voltage, the difference is HUGE! With the bigger headroom the Square One plays in a different league imo, incredible improvement, no more boxiness at all! (now 15V, I will try 18V), and the ZW44 finally can leave my board, no comparison. (Christoph from Germany)

I received it and have played for half an hour... OMG!!!!!!!!!!! So so so so × 100 GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is freaking Good, everything is just what I wanted for Fuzz!!!!!!!!!!! I am not joking or giving you a lip service..., This is, your Fuzz is the best in this universe as far as I know... I have more than 40 Fuzz pedals and 30 of them are FF style... All good, but something was missing... I was kinda giving up looking for it..., BUT, now I found it, the journey to find my destined fuzz is over! (Takahiro Hoshino on the Purple Faze Special Edition)

Just got an Epic Overdrive over the holidays and I have never heard anything else like. The depth of the drive while retaining the clarity of each note is unmatched by any other OD I’ve played. (Anthony Corbo)

I've playing the Purple Faze for a week now, man, I'm still truly amazed! How it cleans up is absolutely beautiful. I couldn't be happier with it, it's been a long search for the perfect Fuzz Face but now I'm glad it's over! (Pablo Leira)

This Three Volt Vintage Fuzz pedal is a marvel. I've never heard anything like it. It's a sound I've had in my head but never experienced for myself. It sounds absolutely fabulous. Raw. Fat. Crackly. Flabby. Farty. Tuba-esque. Woozy. (All in a good way!)
And it's spot-on re the demos, especially the guy playing the parts Jag. I tend to play single coils. Thanks for making me such a great fuzz pedal. (John Grgurich)

I can say firsthand it is a box of magic. Just love this pedal. @godflitstone at Instagram on the SF02 Goo Goo Fuzz

The Silver Balloon is a very well constructed, accurate tonal reproduction of a DeArmond Thunderbolt. The inductor-less circuit opens itself to a wider sweep and a unique tone that cannot be matched. An external power jack, LED indicators and a true bypass switch add layers of convenience, style and function for modern players. Harry DeArmond is smiling upon you Anders Marcuslund-Reuss, so am I. Thank you !!! Greg DeArmond (family relative to Harry DeArmond)

I’m not sure how this got from Denmark to Missouri so fast but amazing! I can’t stop playing it- there are a LOT of Super Fuzz type pedals but this one is something special. Do you want the real thing or are you just bluffing?
(Reverb.com feedback on the SF02 Goo Goo Fuzz from Rich's Gear Emporium)

A thing of wonder, beautifully made and easy to use pedal. Thank you very much.(Reverb.com feedback on the RF03 Repeater Fuzz from Daniel's Gear Bazaar)

I just plugged in the Repeater Fuzz mk III. My god, it’s totally brilliant. I did not know what to expect: sounded like a cool concept. But it turned out to be concept actualized. And then some. You totally nailed the vibe. I am just so blown away. The send/return for wah pedal control is the icing on the cake. Spectacular. Absolutely spectacular. The repeat percussion actually sounds and handles better than an actual V809. Amazing. I am a believer... I can tell that a lotta love went into that pedal. I have over 100 fuzz pedals, and this is an astounding addition to my collection. Thank you for being such a huge fan of Spacemen 3. The fuzz world needs this... @voltmeterholt

I own one (SF02 Goo Goo Fuzz). It awesome, awesome, awesome. @chris314159265359 at Instagram

A thing of wonder, beautifully made and easy to use pedal. Thank you very much.(Reverb.com feedback on the RF03 Repeater Fuzz from Daniel's Gear Bazaar)

Hej! Just needed to share how happy I am with my purchase! I've had so many different distortion pedals and had to use different ones depending on which amp I was to play on a certain gig but after buying  'The Utilitarian' I don't have to worry anymore. It just sounds fucking brilliant. Well done! Lucas L.

This is fantastic. Got it around 9:30 AM and now it's about 1 AM the next morning and I am still playing and enjoying it. Thank you, Anders!!! And to all others out there with a fable for fuzz, I highly recommend this to you. This is a MUST HAVE!!! @masc66 at Instagram

My second Reuss pedal ( I also have the RF-02 repeater fuzz). Really nice quality build and sounds very very close to my original 1962 Maestro FZ-1. Also the shipping time to NZ was amazingly quick! Thanks once again. Ron Fielding

Ok I got it... And I start to use it... I feel like a Spacemen ;) I play all the afternoon with the repeater fuzz MkIII that's very cool... All my guitars are sounding well and the pedal stacks very well with my others dirt/delay/reverbs... it's really a great job, congratulations and thank you. Denis Verron

Holy Shit! Just plugged this in (Electricity Fuzz)...immediately blown away! Been playing with it 2 days straight...This is by far my favorite pedal EVER. Swirley harmonics, blossoming compression, big bottom gripping warm fuzz tones that don't over fuzz. It sounds huge not thin and weak what u may expect from some fuzzes. What a Killer pedal! My favorite pedal previously was the Fuzztain - which was my holey grail -Now this is! Sounds good at any setting, versatile, small footprint, big bottom, cleans up great with Guitar Vol knob. Perfect pedal! I am buying three just for myself so I may never be without! Seth/Pentatonic Guitars

Just want to say that I bought my OD-01 (Cab Drive) about 2 or 3 years ago from you. It is a beautiful sounding pedal. I was almost shocked at how much I liked it. I still own around 200 pedals of which many are from the 60's and 70's. You did a great job on your CAB DRIVE. I am sincere when I say that it is among 5 of my all time favorite OD pedals of which I own. Lazoma Chavez-Walton

Pedal (Wine & Roses) is great and what I especially like is that guitar tone and dynamic is not changing when I add drive. And the drive is wonderful, the best I ever had. Now I'm thinking about to buy one more for backup. Dale Zovko

Tested the B.O.M.B. today. VERY nice work! I had it last in chain after other dirt pedals and wah and it really plays well with all of them, nicely thickens up the tone and sounds fantastic, also on its own! Gert W.

I recently ordered the RSH-03 Rowland S. Howard pedal, and got it in the mail a few days ago. I have been playing around with the pedal ever since it arrived, and I'm incredibly satisfied! It has quickly become my favorite pedal, sounding as good as it looks. I've also combined it with my Warren Ellis signature tenor guitar for some amazing sounds. Anyway, thanks a lot for developing this pedal, it's clear a lot of effort went into it! Pieter Claeys

I received my "Wine and Roses" pedal and I LOVE IT! It sounds FANTASTIC! Thanks for making a pedal that fits my distortion needs. I can't praise the pedal highly enough. Alabaster Smidge.

I just wanted to send a personal thanks for the Double Bender I ordered through eBay. Not only did you get it to me lightning fast you've produced a real beauty. After playing with it all morning I can safely bet that of all my fuzzes this will get the most use. If I was still playing live it would be living my board. It sounds great and I love the versatility and degree of control it offers. Having said that, I've just ordered your FZ-01 'Vintage Three Volt Fuzz' as well from Tym Guitars who were listed as your Aus dealer. Thanks again... Colin B.

I primarily purchased the 2nd RSH pedal as a backup.  I never want to be without one.  I love my Jag into my Deluxe Reverb clean, but your pedals take it into a whole other realm of not so controllable harmonic wildness.  These pedals are my absolute favorites!  Thank you so much for producing them. George E.

Every serious player should have one or more of any of the Reuss Pedals. I believe that they are the next 'Klon' phenomena....nothing sounds like them, period. He uses sourced and real vintage parts. There's not 1 pedal that he makes that I don't love. Where can you get a handmade pedal so finely made and with the finest vintage componentry? Nowhere... and not even for 500 per pedal, his pricing is insanely modest! Alluvium Gear Emporium (Reverb.com seller)

Thanks for making such a brilliant pedal. Both the fuzz and repeater effects are awesome! Michael P.

I LOVE this pedal. Jonathan M. (on the Goo Goo Fuzz)

Yesterday I received the RSH-03 and I´m pleased to say that it sounds simply astonishing. I´m sure that we´ll have really good times together. Juan P.M.

Anders, I wanted to tell you I got the pedal and it is just absolutely mind blowing. It's everything I wanted it to be. I don't understand how this pedal can achieve the biting octave quality and yet still sound beautiful with big open chords. Up and down the neck, it is just beautiful sounding. You have one VERY happy customer. Carter T.

Very potent fuzz.  Probably best fuzz I've heard. Great pedal, Anders. The repeater is great also. Warren E. (on the Repeater Fuzz)

Dear Anders. As a great fan of Rowland S Howard I was intrigued by your pedals, and recently took the plunge, buying an Evil Twin which. I am just writing to say what a brilliant pedal this is. I have been looking for a decent distortion pedal for years - I've tried boutique ones (the Ubangi Stomp from Nocturne Pedals), Big Muff and a Keeley-modified Ibanez Tube Screamer but had a problem that while in isolation they sounded good, as soon as I was in a band situation, the tone and volume seemed to be sucked out of the sound, the volume decreased and the sound became muddy. The brilliant thing about the Evil Twin is that it combines a tonal boost with grit, so you can get a real dirty boost but still hear individual strings shining through. Just what I have been looking for for years. Thank you! Arun K.

I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with it . You did an excellent job of cloning it. I honestly cant tell the difference between the pedal and the on board effects on my stream, especially with the fuzz. What a monster. The RSH pedal is super sick too! James S. (RF-02 Repeater Fuzz)

The pedal arrived and it's working brilliantly. Love the absolute chaos with plus on and the blue box blend at 100%, sounds just like Sleep Alone. Tristan D. (RSH-03)

I’m just writing to thank you about both the incredible quality and service of Reuss pedals! I’ve been very tempted by almost every pedal you’ve created in the past year or so and decided it was time to finally purchase one. I’m delighted by not only the build / looks / craftsmanship (which I was certain would be great anyway) but the service. Denmark to England in under 48 hours! Again, thank you very much - hopefully I’ll have another sometime soon! Alex S.

I wanted to take the time to thank you for making such a fantastic pedal, and for getting it to me so quickly. For a long time I've felt like I was looking for a certain tone/sound and been unable to find it, and I think your work here is exactly what I was looking for. It certainly helps that I am also a very big Rowland S. Howard fan. I was intrigued by the look and design of the Evil Twin and am happy to say it's totally satisfactory. Julian H.

I have received Repeater Fuzz today. I was surprised for that to be transported very fast. The sound was cool and crazy. Thank you very much. Hisakazu K (Japan)

Once I found out that the pedals had arrived at my friend’s store, I rushed up to get the Roland S Howard RSH-03, and I am completely freaking out over this pedal. It's Blissful. Thank you for taking the time and having the dedication and passion to think outside the box on your designs! Your pedals are designed to make art with! Walther B.

I have received my WE-01 Muzzbomb and it is amazing!!! I love the madness of the muzz, but I am also very very impressed with the boost. I have found myself simply using the boost only in situations. Ben H.

I got to spend some real time with the double bender last night. What a wonderful fuzz pedal. Truly enjoying both the 60s and the 70s sides, turning everything all the way up, starving the circuit and everything in between. This is a serious keeper. Seth M.

Just a quick one to say I've been blown away by my Muzzbomb. It's still surprising me every time I play. Andre L. (South Africa)

Just got the delivery today. You were right about the speed of delivery! and I gotta say the boxing is amazing and thanks so much for the note. Best experience buying something online I have ever had and you can quote me on that. Arifin Tellegen

Got the Muzzbomb in the mail yesterday. Sounds incredible! Just what I was looking for! Thanks again! Robert M.

The RSH pedal is incredible. It exceeded my, already high, expectations. And it looks so good. The pedal has inspired a lot of new ideas. I couldn't be happier with it. Andre L.

The pedal arrived safely and it's beautiful. The design is terrific, the circuit board clearly shows the care and level of attention it went into making the pedal. Really cool stuff. I love the Blue box side, it sounds even better than the original pedal (I have a vintage one from 1975). The distortion side sounds nearly identical to the vintage Distortion+. Daniele D.S.

Reuss Effects rules! Fastest shipping from the other side of the world. Not just a great builder, but a benchmark for customer service. I cant thank you enough. Fantastic lo/fi fuzz! James H (Vintage Three Volt Fuzz)

The Warren Ellis pedal is insane! Should sell millions. But don’t sell any more of them please. I want them to be rare! Brian C

Here is a short demo of me playing my new Octavia pedal (Muzzbomb modded to correct Octavia specs) handmade by Anders from www.reusseffects.com. I now have three of his pedals and they all sound incredible. I can't recommend his work highly enough. In my view they really are the best out there. The Octavia is 10x better than my friend’s Fulltone Octafuzz. Even my Goo Goo fuzz does a better job of an octavia than that! Richard James Grist

Just spent ten mins with the Evil Twin that thing is f**kin chaotic! True love. Can't wait to order the muzzbomb and double bender. Truly appreciated. Seth M.

Mark my words, the Reuss Muzzbomb will go down as one of the best Fuzz pedals of the new century.  I say this from the bottom of my heart, the Reuss Muzz Bomb is my favorite pedal of all time, bar none.  It is a marvel! It redefines a boost, it redefines the octavia. Let me be clear, I have pulled sounds out of this pedal that are beyond comparison to any other Octavia, any other fuzz.  At it's price point and quality, it literally embarrasses other pedals in the market.  Reuss is hands down the best bang for your buck when it comes to insanely high quality builds with boutique parts original designs and KICK ASS sounds. Casey Hopkins

Question: Is the Reuss better than Acid Fuzz?
Answer 1: They're both amazing pedals.
Answer 2: I've got both. Both have their positives, but the Reuss seems to have more versatility. (From Facebook thread about the RF-02 Repeater Fuzz)

Ordered on Thursday was shipped immeadiately and showed up on Monday to the west coast of the United States. Relax man its a fuzz pedal not heart or liver for transplant ;) I would have been fine if it showed up on Tuesday or Wednesday. This pedal is a real wolf in sheeps clothing. It looks like a nice modern big name effect but plugging it in it sounds like something from the earliest days of fuzz pedals. It buzzes spits and sounds practically broken (in a good way) AWESOME!!! J. Last

Recently, I purchased the Reuss Muzzbomb and I just want to let you know that I absolutely love it 😊 I play mostly free jazz with the occasional noise adventures. During a recording for my band Lärmschutz, I did a 5 minute noise solo to test the pedal to it's most extreme (wow, it passed the test!). Stef Brans
